THE ORLANDO GOLF ASSOCIATION
TOGA
Welcome to TOGA
Wednesday & Friday Games
On weekdays TOGA plays a four player team format. All players have a set number of points to earn. Each team must obtain the sum of all of its members to break even. Players earn one point for each bogey, two points for each par, three points for each birdie and four points for each eagle they earn. Each point earned above that amount is added to the team as plus one point. Each point not earned below that amount ia counted as minus one point for the team. The amount of points a player must earn is determined by subtracting his/her handicap from thirty-six. Each player plays his/her ball to completion. Any player picking up their ball before completion of the hole shall receive four over par for the hole
Except for greens fees, payable to Rio Pinar, all monies are collected and paid out upon the conclusion of play. Each player shall pay $2.00 to the team that obtains the most points on the front nine, $2.00 to the team that obtains the most points on the back nine and $2.00 to the team that obtains the most points overall. In addition each player shall pay $1.00 per good birdie to the team/teams that obtained it.
There is an $4.00 fee for a "Closest to the Pin" game. This amounts to $1.00 per opting player for each of the four par three holes.
The amount of registered players determines the amount of teams. After the amount of teams have been determined, each team will be designated an "A" player. "A" players will be the lowest handicap indexed players. The teams will than be drafted by the "A" players. The "A" player with their highest handicap index will select first in each round until all registered players have been selected.
If all teams have four players, starting times and holes shall be determined by random draw. If there are threesomes, the lowest handicap indexed "A" player shall go off first followed by the next lowest and etc.
